What To Expect My aim for all my students is to encourage and facilitate successful original objects of art in a variety of media. With my help and instruction, you will gain knowledge of fundamental or "formal properties" of art. This includes line-of-design, positive/negative space, shade/values, texture, color theory, etc. You may want to develop drawing ability, learn how to mix colors, improve portrait and figure drawing, or simply improve painting skills. Behind every successful fantastically creative painting is a very careful plan. Only when you, as a fine-art student, become proficient in basic techniques and understand compositional balance to achieve unity, will you feel free to find creative ways to break the rules successfully; that is, to be able to paint outside of the lines. Through classes at DZArtStudio.com, you will learn many tools and factors which are fundamental to your craft. For example: Class Size Restriction Due to space limitations inherent in the Art Studio, all classes are restricted to no more than six students. This restriction has the additional benefit that I can provide quality hands-on instruction to each and every student as needed. I continually circle the table to view each student’s progress and to ensure everyone has access to corrective direction as needed. Unlike the frustration of getting stuck when you are trying to paint at home, I will be specific in discussing and polishing details of your work so your particular project and will continue successfully.
